Corey Woods, better known by his stage name Raekwon, is an American rapper. He rose to prominence as a founding member of the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan, which achieved mainstream success following the release of their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang , in 1993.
The purple haze of *Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…* still hasn't cleared from hip-hop's atmosphere nearly three decades later—Raekwon's 1995 masterpiece, produced entirely by RZA, redefined what a solo album could be within the Wu-Tang ecosystem by functioning as a cinematic crime saga rather than a collection of tracks. His partnership with Ghostface Killah throughout the record created one of rap's greatest chemistry acts, their voices intertwining over dusty soul samples and chopped-up horns to paint vivid scenes of New York street life with a novelist's precision.
