Dijon Isaiah McFarlane, known professionally as Mustard, is an American record producer. A frequent collaborator of fellow California-based artists YG and Ty Dolla Sign, he began his career producing singles and albums for both rappers, and has since done so for other prominent acts in hip-hop and R&B.
The "Mustard on the beat" tag became synonymous with West Coast dominance in the 2010s, a calling card that announced Mustard as the sonic architect behind some of rap's most infectious bangers. His near-total production of YG's *My Krazy Life* established him as the rapper's defining sonic voice, while his work with Nipsey Hussle deepened his roots in the LA underground that would eventually go global. When Mustard produced "Die Young" for Roddy Ricch, he handed the young rapper a breakthrough hit that proved his fingerprints worked across generations—the minimalist, hypnotic production style that made his name became the blueprint for a generation of SoundCloud rappers. Operating through his 10 Summers Records imprint, Mustard built an empire on repetition and simplicity, turning sparse drums and melodic loops into something undeniable.
