Pras

Prakazrel Samuel Michel, known professionally as Pras, is an American rapper, singer and actor. He is best known as a member of the hip-hop group Fugees, which he formed with fellow New Jerseyans Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill in 1990.

Pras emerged from South Orange, New Jersey alongside his cousin Wyclef Jean and childhood friend Lauryn Hill to form the Fugees, a group that redefined hip-hop's possibilities in the mid-90s by blending rap with soul and reggae textures. His 1998 solo debut *Ghetto Supastar* proved he could anchor a track without the group's dynamic—the title single becoming a staple of late-90s radio through its novelty appeal and genuine charm. While Pras never matched the solo trajectories of his more visible bandmates, his production instincts and understated presence kept the Fugees functioning as genuine equals rather than a vehicle for any single voice.
