Organized Noize

Organized Noize is an American production duo from Atlanta, Georgia, currently composed of Ray Murray and Sleepy Brown. Initially a trio, the team included Dungeon Family co-founder Rico Wade until his death in 2024.

The blueprint for '90s Atlanta rap wasn't just laid by OutKast and Goodie Mob—it was constructed in the studio by Organized Noize, the production trio of Rico Wade, Ray Murray, and Sleepy Brown who engineered the South's most influential sound. Their work on OutKast's early albums established the spacious, soulful foundation that would define the decade, while the grimy, spiritually-conscious production they brought to Goodie Mob's *Soul Food* proved that Southern rap could be both commercially viable and artistically uncompromising. Rico Wade's death in 2024 marked the end of an era for the Dungeon Family collective he co-founded, but the legacy of Organized Noize's production—those stretched strings, flipped soul samples, and atmospheric depth—remains the DNA of modern Atlanta rap.
