Noah James Shebib, better known by his stage name 40, is a Canadian record producer, songwriter, record executive, and former child actor from Toronto, Ontario. He is best known for his production work with fellow Toronto native Drake, having extensive involvement on the entirety of Drake's discography since 2008.
Toronto's most consequential shadow architect, 40 built Drake's entire sonic empire from the ground up—a partnership so total that separating producer from rapper becomes philosophically impossible. Since 2008, his atmospheric, minor-key production has defined Drake's sound across *Take Care*, *Nothing Was the Same*, and beyond, making him arguably rap's most influential non-rapping voice of the 2010s. While his connection count sits modest on paper, 40's gravitational pull extends far beyond spreadsheets: co-founding OVO Sound meant controlling the gateway for an entire generation of Toronto talent, and his nocturnal production aesthetic became the blueprint that countless producers still chase. The Weeknd, PND, Majid Jordan—40's fingerprints are everywhere in the OVO ecosystem, even when his name isn't on the credits. Few producers have ever wielded this much power with this little public fanfare.
