Moneybagg Yo

DeMario DeWayne White Jr. , known professionally as Moneybagg Yo, is an American rapper.

Moneybagg Yo emerged from Memphis's street rap tradition in 2016, channeling the city's methodical, percussion-heavy sound through a prolific release schedule that established him as one of the region's most consistent voices. Working closely with producer Tay Keith, who understood the Memphis aesthetic intuitively, and signed to Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group, Moneybagg built credibility through the *Time Served* and *A Gangsta's Pain* albums—the latter becoming his commercial breakthrough despite maintaining the gritty authenticity that made his earlier mixtapes resonate. His partnership with CMG labelmate GloRilla created some of the 2020s' most vital Memphis collaborations, proving the collective's ability to develop complementary artists rather than clone its sound.
