Migos

Migos was an American hip hop group founded in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 2008. The group was composed of rapper Quavo, his nephew Takeoff, and their friend Offset.

Drake's "Versace" remix in 2013 served as Migos' unofficial coronation—a cosign that transformed three Lawrenceville kids into trap's most vital architects. The trio's staccato flow and ad-lib-heavy production became inescapable through *Culture* and *Culture II*, albums that didn't just chart but rewired how mainstream rap sounded during the 2010s. Quality Control's dominance during this era was inseparable from Migos' rise, with labelmate Lil Baby amplifying the label's stranglehold on streaming and radio. Beyond music, their reach extended everywhere from Offset's marriage to Cardi B to collaborations with Kanye West, though their trajectory was forever altered by Takeoff's murder in November 2022—a loss that fractured what had been hip-hop's most consistent hit-making machine and left the group's future uncertain.
