Their tenure under Diddy proved volatile—the trio's hunger for independence clashed with corporate expectations—but their subsequent move to Ruff Ryders solidified their status as core architects of that crew's raw, militant sound. D-Block became their label and their identity, a standalone institution that allowed Jadakiss's serpentine delivery, Styles P's grimy introspection, and Sheek's underrated sharpness to flourish without filter.
