Maryland rapper Logic built his early reputation on relentless technical ability and introspective lyricism, qualities he absorbed from studying Eminem's catalog obsessively and J. Cole's narrative depth. His 2014 debut *Under Pressure* announced a hungry young artist determined to prove himself within Def Jam's roster, but it was the suicide prevention anthem "1-800-273-8255" from *Everybody* that cemented his cultural relevance beyond hip-hop purists. Though his middle-era albums received mixed critical reception—some criticized his attempts at concept records and genre-blending as unfocused—Logic never stopped prioritizing wordplay and honest self-examination over trends.
