Lloyd Banks

Christopher Charles Lloyd, better known by his stage name Lloyd Banks, is an American rapper. He began his career as a member of East Coast hip-hop group G-Unit, which he formed with childhood friends 50 Cent and Tony Yayo in 1999.

Growing up in South Jamaica Queens alongside 50 Cent and Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks became the technical backbone of G-Unit, a crew that dominated mid-2000s rap through sheer hunger and chemistry. *The Hunger for More* arrived in 2004 as a statement of intent—Banks's intricate wordplay and grimy production choices stood apart from 50's commercial pop sensibility, positioning him as the group's most skilled lyricist even as the spotlight rarely found him there.
