J Hus

Momodou Lamin Jallow known professionally as J Hus, is a British rapper and singer, credited with pioneering the genre of Afroswing. He is currently signed to Black Butter Records.

J Hus didn't just make records—he made a genre. The Gambian-British MC emerged from London's grime ecosystem in 2015 and bent it into something entirely new, blending Afrobeats sensibility with rap's narrative bite to create Afroswing, a sound that would define UK hip-hop's global explosion. *Common Sense* arrived in 2017 as a fully formed manifesto, introducing a whole demographic to his melodic, rhythmically adventurous approach; subsequent albums like *Big Conspiracy* and *Beautiful and Brutal Yard* proved he wasn't a one-moment wonder.
