Insane Clown Posse

Insane Clown Posse, often abbreviated as ICP, is an American hip-hop duo. Formed in Detroit in 1989, ICP's best-known lineup consists of rappers Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope.

Founded by Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope in Detroit, Insane Clown Posse built an empire on calculated shock value and theatrical horror-rap that mainstream hip-hop largely rejected—a positioning that proved oddly prescient for their Psychopathic Records imprint. Their 1997 album *The Great Milenko* became a cultural flashpoint, but ICP's most durable legacy isn't chart dominance; it's the Juggalo movement, a fiercely loyal fanbase that transformed the duo into underground royalty despite—or because of—their outsider status.
